Elgin City striker Shane Sutherland looks set to be out for a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury.
Sutherland came off late on in the 3-0 win over Cove Rangers last weekend and City boss Gavin Price said the prognosis is better than they first feared.
He said: “It’s not as bad as we thought – he’ll maybe be out a couple of weeks. It’s obviously not ideal as he’s been a big player for us but we’re not totally reliant on him.
“We’ve got a number of players in good form in the forward areas. Kane Hester is scoring goals and our wide players are a big threat.
“It’s a blow but we’re certainly not downbeat about it.”
Sutherland will miss this weekend’s trip to Hampden Park, where a win for Elgin would help them cement a place in the play-off positions. They take on another play-off contender Cowdenbeath next weekend, as the big games stack up for the Borough Briggs side.
Price added: “The last few weeks we’ve been in decent form and we’re coming up against a team that’s similarly playing well. The park should suit both sides.
“This next game is the most important one – that’s all we’re concentrating on at the moment. If we get a good result we’ll still be in fourth place.”
Elgin have won three on the bounce after victories over Stirling Albion, Brechin City and Cove.
