Elgin City manager Gavin Price says the Black and Whites cannot afford to dwell on recent missed opportunities as they pursue a League 2 promotion play-off place.
City have been hit by late goals in recent weeks, causing them to lose 2-1 to Stirling Albion draw 2-2 with Stenhousemuir prior to Saturday’s 0-0 stalemate at Cowdenbeath.
With City falling six points behind fourth-placed Annan Athletic, Price insists it is vital the Moray outfit get back on the winning trail in their upcoming home fixtures against Albion Rovers and Brechin City.
Price said: “We need to get wins – draws don’t do much for your league position.
“Under normal circumstances away points are not bad, particularly at places like Cowdenbeath.
“We have taken two points from the last three games, when we could certainly have had seven when you look at it.
“We don’t, and that’s the complaint we have had all season that we are not getting the points we should.
“What happened before has happened, we can only affect the games that are coming up.
“We need to turn these draws into victories if we are going to threaten the top four places – sooner rather than later.
“We want to go into the Christmas period in among the top four spots, if not in it.”
Although they have not won since their 4-0 triumph over Annan Athletic on November 2, Price is refusing to panic, adding: “I’m still very confident we have got a squad capable of getting into that top four.
“We just need to get a bit of consistency, which we have had in terms of performance. We just need to get the points now.”
