Jim Weir: There is plenty more to come from Elgin City’s Dylan Easton

Elgin City manager Jim Weir reckons the best of attacker Dylan Easton has yet to come.

Former St Johnstone forward Easton has already made an impression on supporters in his two starts since joining City on loan until the end of the season, playing his part in victories against Spartans and Arbroath.

The Black and Whites host leaders Annan in League 2 this afternoon, and Weir is confident 21-year-old Easton will only improve with more games for the Moray outfit.

Weir said: “I knew he would be a favourite with the supporters. He has style and takes players on.

“The supporters have really taken to him, but I don’t think they’ve seen the best of him yet.

“It will be another three or four games before he reaches full match fitness.”

City will try to maintain their unbeaten home record when Annan visit Borough Briggs this afternoon.

That run will be put to the test today by the leaders, who have won their last four matches on the bounce, and have not dropped a point since City secured a 1-1 draw at Galabank through Craig Gunn’s stoppage-time goal in September.

Weir added: “Annan are a strong side and have had some great results. They have experience and goals in their team.

“We’ve got to be ready for that, but our home form is good so we go into the game confident.”

City are still without captain Jamie Duff (groin), while midfielder Mark Nicolson is doubtful with a knee injury.
