This weekend sees a number of Highland League teams take their place in the first round of the Scottish Cup.

Eleven Highland League teams are set to take part in Scotland’s biggest Cup competition with Buckie facing the toughest test – a trip to West Region Super League champions Auchinleck Talbot.

  • Last season six Highland League teams made the third round of the Scottish Cup
  • Fraserburgh made the fourth round where they were knocked out 3-0 by Stenhousemuir
  • The Highland League’s most successful Scottish Cup season in the last decade was the 2012/13 campaign when seven Highland League teams reached the third round and Deveronvale and Turriff both reach the fourth round
  • Elgin City became the first Highland League club to qualify for the Scottish Cup in three successive seasons (1908, 1909, 1910)
  • Elgin City have gone further in the Scottish Cup than any other Highland League team – reaching the 1968 quarter finals
