Keith FC: Not all doom and gloom at Kynoch Park

Keith FC
Keith FC

Keith fans were brought back down to earth after two successive wins – could we make it three in a row for the first since late December/early January 2013?

We fancied our chances at “The Viccy” as Buckie had been hit by a few bad results, and things were looking up after good wins against Lossie and Rothes.

Sadly, it wasn’t to be as Buckie ended up winning comfortably.

It could have been quite different at 1-1, but the old thorn of losing soft goals came back to haunt us and we also looked out of sorts for quite a spell as well.

I suppose to be honest Buckie could have scored a few more but their ex goalie Daniel Bell, now Keith’s number one, pulled off a string of fine saves, but to no real avail.

It shouldn’t be all doom and gloom though, as the appearance of Bruce Raffell as a substitute for the last 15 minutes looks promising, hopefully he will sign on the dotted line.

Keith fans will remember him as a more than decent midfielder in his first spell, and was part of the team that won the Highland League for the tenth time in 2013.

His experience and guile would be a major asset, as we were second best in midfield for most of the afternoon at Victoria Park.

I’m certain as well that Allan Hale and Gavin Wemyss will get things on the right track, they are obviously currently assessing the squad and seeing what is required to strengthen the squad.

I know one thing, if I was a player I would be rolling my sleeves up and doing the utmost to ensure that I was giving the manager no option but to keep me.
