Caley Thistle manager John Robertson has made Dutch defender Collin Seedorf his fifth signing of the summer.

Seedorf, who is the nephew of former Netherlands international Clarence Seedorf, has signed a two-year contract.

The 22-year-old left Dutch second-tier club RKC Waalwijk this summer, after 46 appearances in three years, and was previously with FC Utrecht as a youth player.

His uncle Clarence was capped 87 times for the Netherlands national team and won the Champions League four times during spells with Ajax, Real Madrid and AC Milan.

Seedorf joins John Baird, Mark Ridgers, George Oakley and Riccardo Calder in signing with the Highlanders and Robertson said: “Collin is one we’ve been pursuing for a couple of weeks.

“He’s a very flexible player. He’s got a great attitude and can play in numerous positions.

“He is a defender that can play anywhere along the back four, but he can also play as a defensive midfielder. He’s also very good on the ball.

“We’re looking to develop him, he’s only 22, but we believe he can go on to bigger and better things.

“We believe he can be part of the squad that takes us back to the Premiership.

“We are delighted to get him in and he is raring to go.”
