Celtic, Aberdeen and Inverness Caledonian Thistle will all discover their European fate with the Champions League and Europa League draws to be held next month.

The Dons will learn who their opponents will be in the first round qualifying.

Aberdeen

Second place Aberdeen will learn of who they face on June 22.

The Dons could face Skonto Riga, a team they lost to on away goals in 1994 from Latvia after they drew 1-1 at Pittodrie.

They were due to face each other once again last season however, Skonto were disqualified due to financial problems.

Alternatively the draw could pair the Dons against ex Rangers and Clyde defender Alan Lowing, who know plays for Vikingur Reykjavik in Iceland.

The Scottish defender has played a key role for the club and helped them in their efforts to qualify for the Europa league campaign.

It is the club’s first appearance in European football for 22 years.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle could enter into the same round as the Dons unless they win the Scottish Cup final against Falkirk on Saturday which will see them enter the second qualifying round.

If the Caley Jags win the cup against Falkirk, it would mean that fourth place St Johnstone will also enter into the Europa League qualifying rounds.

Celtic

Celtic are set to face three qualifying rounds in the champions league to reach the group stage and will be seeded in each round, if they progress.

For the Hoops the second qualifying round will be played over July 14/15 or July 21/22.

Among the potential opponents for the Scottish champions are Dundalk FC, the champions of the Premier Division in the League of Ireland. This season Dundalk ended a 19 year wait to claim the title.

Stjarnan FC, league champions of Iceland, who have a unique quality to their goal celebrations, could also face Celtic in the second round.

They are known for their hilarious celebrations which include swimming, Rambo training and cycling, as shown below.

Due to Celtic being entered as a seeded team they will miss being drawn teams from the leading nations of England, Spain, Italy and Germany.

If Celtic progress and enter into the fourth qualifying round they could replay the controversial tie which saw them progress to play Maribor after they lost on a 6-1 aggregate from last season with Legia Warsaw.

The Polish team were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player and Celtic went onto the next round but the two teams could meet again this year.
