Caley Thistle dug deep to come from a goal behind at the break to claim all three points against Kilmarnock at Caledonian Stadium.

Three second half goals secured a 3-1 win for John Hughes’ side, but more importantly, they are now 11 points clear of the play-offs with four games remaining.

Inverness found themselves a goal behind at the interval after conceding a goal just before half-time to the visitors.

Greg Kiltie was the creator, sliding the ball out wide to Kallum Higginbotham who had time to turn, look up and pick his spot before curling a fine low ball past Owain Fon Williams from just inside the box.

But the home side drew level within 10 minutes of the second half as the visitors found themselves reduced to 10 men.

Conrad Balatoni made a hash of his attempted passback and Killie goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald hauled Ross Draper to the ground to concede a penalty.

Referee John Beaton brandished a red card to the goalkeeper before Inverness midfielder Greg Tansey fired the resulting spot kick past replacement goalkeeper Conor Brennan to restore parity.

The turnaround was complete when Draper bundled Gary Warren’s header home to make it 2-1 in the 73rd minute before Danny Williams put the game beyond the visitors when he finished a sweeping attacking move by firing the third past Brennan.
