Ross County came from behind to earn a point against Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park.

Substitute Brian Graham’s goal two minutes from meant it finished 2-2 in Lanarkshire.

The Staggies had led courtesy of Mckay’s first minute goal but were pegged back by a much-improved second half display from

County made the ideal start taking the lead after only 37 seconds when slack play at the back from Hamilton presented Lee Erwin – making his first start for the Staggies – with a chance to shoot from the left side of the box.

Goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams parried but only to his former Inverness Caley Thistle team mate Billy Mckay who slotted home from six yards.

The rest of the first half was a cagey affair with Accies’ most likely source of a goal being from a set piece.

But Ross County defended solidly and at the other Michael Gardyne’s low shot from 25 yards crept narrowly wide and Ross Stewart stabbed an angled effort past the near post after Erwin’s fine through ball.

Hamilton were a different proposition in the second period with the introduction of striker Steve Davies at half-time making a difference.

Davies bent a free-kick just beyond the far post shortly after his introduction and in the 52nd minute Accies equalised when Lewis Smith turned inside Richard Foster and shot into the top right corner from 12 yards, giving keeper Ross Laidlaw no chance.

Twelve minutes later the Lanarkshire outfit were ahead when the impressive Smith fed George Oakley and the ex-Caley Thistle striker beat Laidlaw with a low strike from 16 yards.

However, Ross County never give in until the final whistle and they salvaged a point two minutes from time.

Sub Brian Graham’s neat touch set Gardyne away down the left and when he reached the bye-line his cutback was pinpoint and Graham was there to side-foot home from 12 yards.

After that County piled on the pressure but couldn’t find a winner and Accies’ Scott Martin was sent off after receiving a second yellow card from ref Colin Steven in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
