Clydebank’s Chris Maclean holds a two-shot lead at the Royal Dornoch Masters following the first round of the Tartan Pro Tour event yesterday.
Maclean shot a four under par round of 66 yesterday, with his nearest challengers Jack McDonald, Sam Locke, Thomas Higson and Craig Lee two shots further behind.
Maclean carded three birdies and a bogy in both his front and back nine at the Dornoch event, which concludes today.
The tournament is the third event on 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie’s Tartan Pro Tour, following the Carnoustie Masters and Scottish Par 3 Championship which were held last month.
Chris Robb is the current leader of the Order of Merit after the opening two events, with the Aberdonian sitting tied 12th in this week’s tournament following a level par round of 70 at the Royal Dornoch Championship course yesterday.
