Scotland’s cricketers will be in action against the likes of David Warner, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor when they take on Australia and New Zealand next summer.

Cricket Scotland has confirmed its summer International schedule for 2020, welcoming Australia and the Blackcaps for an ODI and two T20 internationals in June.

New Zealand, who were originally planning to visit for one match on June  26, has changed their schedule and will now start their European tour in Scotland with a T20I on Wednesday, June 10, followed by an ODI on June 12.

In addition to these matches, Australia has confirmed they will visit Scotland for a T20I on Monday, June 29 to coincide with a tour of England.

Shane Burger, Scotland’s head coach, said: “The opportunity to play against two of the best teams in the world is an exciting prospect. We have beaten teams of this calibre previously and we will be looking to push them all the way on all occasions.

“Cricket Scotland has set big goals for 2020 and this is part of that vision of playing against the world’s best and challenging players and staff to keep improving.

“Bring the Scottish flags and wear the tartan with pride, support will be appreciated!”

Cricket Scotland chief executive Gus Mackay says: “We are delighted to welcome Australia and New Zealand to Scotland for three summer internationals in 2020.

“To host these high-profile matches further demonstrates Cricket Scotland’s ambitions of playing more fixtures against Full Member opposition and also provides our fans and supporters with more international cricket.

“In addition, it presents a great opportunity to prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in Australia the same year.”
