Scott Allan has been at the centre of intense scrutiny over his future
A number of rumours have circulated today linking Aberdeen with a £250,000 move for Hibernian midfielder Scott Allan.
The 23-year-old has been the subject of two failed bids from Rangers in recent days, with a third bid expected this week.
Social media has been awash with rumours suggesting the Dons have trumped the Ibrox club by offering £250,000 for Allan, however Derek McInnes has rubbished the rumours.
Dons boss McInnes spoke to the media this afternoon ahead of the club’s trip to Kazakhstan and said: “Scott Allan is not a player that we are pursuing”.
Allan started his career at Dundee United as a 10-year-old, spending 11 years on Tayside before joining West Brom in 2012. He struggled to break into the Baggies first team but enjoyed two loan spells at Portsmouth, as well as loan periods at Milton Keynes Dons and Birmingham City during his team south of the border.
The attacking midfielder returned to Scottish football with Hibs at the start of last season and enjoyed a stunning campaign, winning the Championship PFA Player of the Year award.
