Return of the Mo: EastEnders fans celebrate first stage of Slater family reunion

EastEnders stalwart Mo Harris made a dramatic return to Walford on Friday night to the delight of viewers.

The character, played by Laila Morse, popped up at the end of the soap’s latest episode to tell Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) that Kat Slater is dead.

It had already been announced that Kat, played by Jessie Wallace, will also return to the soap.

The plotline will involve a reunion of key members of the Slater family, who have been a staple in Albert Square since 2000.

Mo last appeared in the soap in January 2016.

Viewers on social media celebrated her return and speculated about why she had lied about Kat’s death.

@KelleS6 wrote on Twitter: “Lol Big Mo is soap’s greatest hustler. She’ll do anything for money, Kat is definitely not dead.”

@RyanFellows2 tweeted: “It was nice to see Mo return back on the end of tonight’s @bbceastenders I can’t wait for Kat’s return!!”

@EmmyJovovich posted: “Yay! Big Mo is back!”

@NinaGoodie70 wrote: “YAY, Big Mo is back…..I wonder if she is still with Fat Elvis? Anyway, I can’t wait to see Kat, I have missed her in EE…@JessieWallaceUK you have been missed.”

EastEnders returns on Monday on BBC One.
