The former Blue singer has been cast in the male lead, previously played by Cuba Gooding Jr and Martin Kemp. James will star opposite Alexandra Burke as Roxie Hart from September 10. Cuba Gooding Jr previously played Billy Flynn (Isabel Infantes/PA) The role of Billy Flynn was previously played by Oscar-winning Gooding Jr when the new revival of the show debuted in March 2018. EastEnders actor and Spandau Ballet bassist Kemp took over from the Hollywood star in July. Chicago is booking at the Phoenix Theatre in London until January 2019.
