John Boyega reveals mother’s reaction after she found out about secret tattoo

John Boyega has revealed he was keeping a new tattoo secret from his mother, and she was not too happy when she found out about it.

The Star Wars actor documented his nerves about revealing the truth to his family on social media, to the amusement of his fans.

He wrote on Twitter: “Been hiding my chest tattoo from my mum. She just asked me to call her. I’m shooooooookk!!”

He added: “Nah why am I hearing that jumanji drumming !”

After he got off the phone from his mother, he said she was not impressed by his ink and compared him to heavily tattooed football star David Beckham.

He wrote “Nah the talking to I just got….. she asked if I’m trying to be like DAVI BECKAM.”

When a fan said that comparison did not seem too bad, he replied: “David Beckham tatts are a no no for a Christian Nigerian mum with tribal marks bro.”

When another fan suggested he tell his family that he got the tattoo for a role, he said: “I rinsed that one still…..”

However, it seemed he had some support from his sister, as he wrote: “Wait wait wait!!!Plot twist!!!! My mum called my sister to share intel and my sis grace said ‘I’m getting one too’.”

He shared a video of a group of children sinking below the water, and wrote: “Me and my sister right now it was nice knowing you all. Have a good night. I actually gotta handle this byeeee!”

This is not Boyega’s first tattoo.

He already has some conspicuous ink on his left bicep.
