Ryan Adams’ UK and Ireland tour has been cancelled following sexual abuse allegations, according to a number of venues.

All of the American singer-songwriter’s shows on the See Tickets website have been cancelled, including dates at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the O2 Apollo Manchester and the O2 Academy Newcastle.

A post from the Royal Albert Hall’s official Twitter page said: “The Ryan Adams UK & Ireland tour has been cancelled.

“Full refunds to ticket purchasers from authorised outlets will be processed by end of day on Monday. Please allow time for the repayment transaction to hit your account.”

There were similar messages from other venues, including the Olympia Theatre in Dublin and Birmingham’s O2 Academy.

In February, a string of women told the New York Times that Adams, 44, had been abusive towards them.

One of the women, a 20-year-old female musician, alleged that Adams had inappropriate conversations with her while she was 15 and 16.

His ex-wife Mandy Moore was one of the accusers, and claimed that he had been psychologically abusive towards her.

A lawyer for Adams denied the allegations of abuse to the New York Times.

Adams later posted on Twitter: “I am not a perfect man and I have made many mistakes. To anyone I have ever hurt, however unintentionally, I apologize deeply and unreservedly.

“But the picture that this article paints is upsettingly inaccurate. Some of its details are misrepresented; some are exaggerated; some are outright false. I would never have inappropriate interactions with someone I thought was underage. Period.

“As someone who has always tried to spread joy through my music and my life, hearing that some people believe I caused them pain saddens me greatly. I am resolved to work to be the best man I can be. And I wish everyone compassion, understanding and healing.

Pop star and actress Moore, who was married to Adams between 2009 and 2016, later said in a podcast that she was “so sad” during their marriage, and that she felt she was “drowning” while they were together.

Speaking on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, she alleged her career was hindered when he became dependent on her, saying the relationship “had an entirely unhealthy dynamic”.

Representatives for Ryan Adams have been contacted for comment.
