Kem Cetinay misses out on Dancing On Ice final

Kem Cetinay has been eliminated from Dancing On Ice, narrowly missing out on a place in the final.

The Love Island star lost to Max Evans during the skate-off during Sunday night’s semi-final.

After getting his marching orders, Cetinay joked that he would “probably sit in the car park” to still be near the ITV competition.

He said being on the celebrity ice skating competition had been a wonderful experience, telling hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that he was “so scared” when he first landed a spot on the programme.

“It was a weird environment to come into,” he said. “But the journey has been so good.”

All four of the judges – Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo – opted to save Evans after the skate off.

Cetinay joked to Dean that he would be available if the judge wanted him to work on “a new Bolero”.

The dramatic semi-final saw each contestant perform twice in a bid to win a spot in the grand final.

Viewers said actress Brooke Vincent “did Manchester proud” after she skated a tribute to the victims of the Ariana Grande concert bombing.

The Coronation Street star, who is from Manchester, performed to Grande’s One Last Time.

The track was released as a charity single to raise funds after the terrorist attack at Grande’s show at Manchester Arena in May 2017.

One fan said on Twitter: “@BrookeLVincent you have done all of Manchester and the north of England proud! That was brilliant! #DancingOnIce @dancingonice.”

Reality star Jake Quickenden earned a standing ovation as he scored a perfect 40.

Quickenden and his professional partner Vanessa Bauer were awarded 10s by the judges for their second routine, a moving skate to Shakespears Sister’s Stay.

It was the first time a contestant on this series of the ITV skating competition had won a perfect score.

Evans, Quickenden and Vincent will now compete in the grand final next week.
