Louise Redknapp has revealed she is no longer in contact with her former Strictly partner Kevin Clifton.

The singer, 44, was paired with the professional dancer during the 2016 series of the BBC show when they were losing finalists.

Shortly after appearing on the programme, Redknapp split with her husband of 19 years, ex-professional footballer Jamie, but denied it was due to the so-called Strictly curse.

The “curse” has been back in the news following reports Stacey Dooley, the winner of last year’s show, has split with her boyfriend and started a relationship with Clifton, whom she was paired with.

Speaking to The Sun, Redknapp said she no longer speaks to Clifton.

She told the newspaper: “I haven’t spoken to him for a long time. Most probably since the show started. Not since last year.”

Asked if the curse was real, Redknapp added: “It’s really hard to pass judgment when you don’t know someone’s situation.

“I haven’t spoken to Kevin in a long, long time and I’ve never met Stacey, so I have no idea.

“Everyone has a different experience, everybody does the show for different reasons, everyone is looking for something different. There are curses everywhere, no matter what job.”

The Strictly Come Dancing “curse” is a phenomenon that has seen celebrity contestants suffer relationship breakdowns after appearing on the show.

Stars that have split with their partners after taking part on Strictly include Countdown’s Rachel Riley and Coronation Street’s Georgia May Foote.
