Ian Wright confronted one of his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! campmates in a row over washing dishes.

The former England footballer accused Andrew Maxwell of not being “cut out for success” after the comedian celebrated a triumphant Bushtucker Trial by having a nap instead of cleaning up.

Maxwell retired to his hammock after retrieving 10 stars from the Ark Of Agony, leaving 70-year-old Caitlyn Jenner to do the dishes.

The decision infuriated Wright, 56, who said: “It’s amazing, some people are just not cut out for success. Don’t go and rest, just kick on and do your job.”

In the Bush Telegraph, he added: “OK, so you’ve got the 10 stars, what are you coming back and going to sleep for? You’ve got a 70-year-old woman who is ready to work and you are meant to be working with her. Do it with her and then rest.”

Leader of the camp and former professional rugby star James Haskell stepped in to help Jenner, but burned his foot by spilling hot water on his shoe.

Former Premier League striker Wright accused Haskell of being “too nice”, saying he got injured because “he didn’t do his job and just lead”.

Speaking to his fellow celebrities, Wright said: “I’m having to hold myself in now. It’s as well I’m not the leader because this wouldn’t be happening, he’d be down there doing it.

“We are grateful for the 10 stars but, at the same time, you can’t get the stars and clock off or there would be anarchy. I don’t know how I’m going to let this lie.

“If this was in our football team you can’t see someone clock off because they’ve done a fantastic thing.”

Wright and radio presenter Roman Kemp noisily replaced the clean dishes to disturb Maxwell’s rest, before Wright confronted the comic.

He said: “James went to help with the dishes and what I’m saying is that because you got the stars, Caitlyn wanted to do it (washing up) and you went to sleep and you didn’t do your job. We have so much time to sleep. Do you understand what I’m saying?”

Maxwell, who narrates MTV reality series Ex On The Beach, agreed, saying in future “I’ll just do them when she wants to do them in future, no bother my end”.

They agreed there were no hard feelings.
