An inspector on a train arriving into Edinburgh was assaulted in a dispute over a ticket, police have said.
The passenger punched the inspector’s arm three times as the service arrived into Edinburgh Waverley station at 8pm.
The suspect – a woman in her 20s, who was 5ft 6in and slim with long, black hair – was travelling on the 7pm train from Glasgow Central to York on February 28.
She was wearing a pink and cream net skirt, a pink fluffy jacket, high heels and carrying an over-the-shoulder purse and a small trolley suitcase.
British Transport Police (BTP) said the assault happened in coach B and are appealing for witnesses.
The force said in a statement: “Anyone who knows her is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.
“In both cases, quote reference number 565 of 28/02/20.
“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
