A man has died after the car he was driving crashed head-on with a lorry in the Highlands.
The incident happened on the A82 in Lochaber, near Glengloy, at around 5.25pm on Monday.
A southbound green Citroen Berlingo was involved in the collision with a northbound Volvo lorry.
The 66-year-old car driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the lorry driver was uninjured.
Motorists faced a 154-mile diversion with the road closed for around nine hours as an investigation took place.
Sergeant Ewan Calder said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this time.
“We are working to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision.
“In particular we would be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen either of the vehicles prior to the collision, who may have seen the crash itself or who may have dashcam footage.
“Anyone who can help our inquiries is asked to call 101, quoting 2566 of 26 October.”
