Brechin were relegated from Ladbrokes League One after being held 1-1 at home by 10-man Stenhousemuir.

The visitors led through Mark McGuigan’s opening goal after 24 minutes only to be pegged back by Andy Jackson three minutes into the second half.

Conor McBrearty was sent off after 53 minutes but Stenhousemuir held out for a draw which kept them above Brechin and in the relegation play-off spot.

Champions Arbroath were held 1-1 at home by 10-man Dumbarton, who led through Calum Gallagher’s goal after 54 minutes.

But Arbroath were awarded a penalty when Cammy Ballantyne handled on the line. Michael McKenna converted from the spot after Ballantyne was shown a red card.

Forfar secured second place with 3-2 win over East Fife as they finished three points above Raith, who drew 1-1 at Montrose.

Scott Agnew (10) gave East Fife the lead but goals from Murray MacKintosh (37) and Dylan Easton (55) put Forfar in front.

Dale Hilson (73) put Forfar two goals in front before Ross Dunlop’s goal after 82 minutes ensured a nervous finish for the visitors.

Raith trailed to Graham Webster’s opening goal after 10 minutes but Craig McGuffie equalised 10 minutes later.

The draw saw Raith finish third and they are joined in the play-offs by fourth-placed Montrose.

Leighton McIntosh scored a hat-trick as Airdrie won 4-1 at Stranraer but it was not enough to edge them into the play-offs as they finished three points behind Montrose.

McIntosh scored after nine, 43 and 55 minutes with Declan Glass also netting after 39. Innes Cameron grabbed a consolation for Stranraer just after the hour.
