Work to stabilise crumbling rocks on the Stromeferry bypass will begin today.

Highland Council has agreed to ‘rachet up’ its plans to combat dangerous rock fall on the Stromeferry Bypass.
The dangers run on a daily basis by travellers on the A890 Stromeferry Bypass have been highlighted in this year’s inspection of the sheer rock face on the landward side of the road and railway line to Kyle of Lochalsh.
A deal in principle has been agreed that will see the current road to rail diversion on the A890 at the Stromeferry bypass remain open to motorists for longer periods of time.
Pupils at Plockton High School are to be pulled from classes early next Tuesday as works on the nearby Stromeferry bypass continue to cause disruption.
Concerns have been raised by locals living near to the Stromeferry bypass works as school children were pulled from school early this week in order to reach their homes at a reasonable hour.
