Sutherland farmers and shepherds went home delighted after the year’s landmark sale of North Country Cheviots at Lairg exceeded all expectations.
North Country Cheviot breeders from the north of Scotland were celebrating last night after achieving much-needed price increases for store and ewe lambs.
More than 40,000 lambs are set to go under the hammer at sales in the north over the next two weeks.
