Work to improve the road between Fort William and Inverness will take place next week.
More than £750,000 is to be spent improving rural roads in Aberdeenshire and Moray used by timber lorries.
Work is set to begin later this month on a project worth in the region of £165,000 aimed at improving the road surface on the A830 around the Glenfinnan area.
Rural roads in Moray will receive improvements worth more than £240,000 to ensure their future use as part of the timber trade.
There will be two days of traffic disruption on the A9 Inverness to Perth road during £40,000 of resurfacing work.
