Statoil reveals floating windfarm scheme will employ “hundreds”

The firm behind ambitious plans to create a floating windfarm off the north-east coast have promised it will deliver a jobs bonanza. Energy giant Statoil said last night its Hywind scheme would generate hundreds of posts as it being built 15 miles from shore. Read the article on Energy Voice.   


Statoil appoints new chief executive

Statoil has appointed Eldar Saetre as its new chief executive following the departure of Helge Lund to BG Group last year. Mr Saetre has been acting as chief executive and president of the Norwegian company since last October.

Statoil evacuates personnel from seven North Sea platforms
