The Coastguard Operations Centre in Shetland has this morning been coordinating two medical evacuations from platforms in the north after crew members were said to have fallen ill.
Two Orkney lifeboats and a helicopter carried out a large sea search after an emergency signal was received - only for the call to prove a false alarm.
A diver who became unwell in Scapa Flow was rescued by a lifeboat. The man was taken to hospital in Orkney after complaining of feeling unwell after surfacing. He was rescued by the Stromness lifeboat and returned to a waiting ambulance before being taken to Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall. His condition is currently unknown.
