Photographer of the Year 2023

It’s time to put North of Scotland in the Picture.

Our NEW Photographer of the Year competition is an exciting new photography competition celebrating the beauty of Scotland.

With stunning scenes on our doorsteps, be it mountains, glens, lochs, castles, waterfalls, forests, coastline, or wildlife. It’s no wonder our local areas are popular with photographers.

Calling amateur photographers!

We are inviting all our Press and Journal readers to show off their photography skills.

We want to see what makes you proud of your local area and the best sights you have captured across the North of Scotland.

Maybe you live somewhere that boasts a stunning landmark or you may have come across a unique scene whilst out travelling further afield.

We also want you to give us a title to your photograph and tell us briefly about what your picture means to you.

Once we have everyone’s photographs, we will create supplements to paint a picture of some of the fantastic places and sights across the North of Scotland.

Photographer of the Year prizes

There will also be a chance for our readers to vote for their favourite picture with prizes up for grabs: most popular photo (£500), two Highly Commended awards (£250 each), along with the “Editor’s Special Recognition Award” (£250).

Each prize will also come with a trophy.

Entry is open to amateur photographers and with cash, trophies, and kudos up for grabs, there’s never been a better time to send in your photo!

We will also feature all the entries in an online gallery on our website.
