Spurs look to have two choices: either sell one of their best midfielders this summer, or allow the remainder of his contract to run down if he will not agree to a new one and risk losing him for nothing next season, the paper says. Real Madrid and Inter Milan are both said to interested in the 27-year-old.

According to the Mirror, the 29-year-old is said to want £200,000 a week, more than double his current salary, but United are working around figures of £125,000 a week. The Spaniard’s contract ends in the summer but it is thought United bosses are keen to keep the midfielder at Old Trafford for at least three more years.
