Highlands wildfire

Two fire engines have been called to a wildfire in the Highlands. A fire service spokesman said they received the call at 8.20pm to the fire in Morar which as about 1sq mile in size. One fire engine was left at scene with a watching brief at 10.18pm.  

Police called to collision outside station

May 11, 2016

Police were called to a two-car crash outside a north-east police station tonight. The incident happened at about 5.20pm on Blackhall Road in Inverurie just outside the town’s police station. A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were called and the two cars were later moved off the road. “Nobody was injured following the crash.”


Motorbike blaze

Firefighters have been called to a motorbike blaze in Aberdeen. A fire service spokesman said one fire engine was called to the vehicle Heatheryfold Park at about 2.50pm and a hose reel jet was used to put out the flames.  


Firefighters called to grass fire

Firefighters have been called to a city-centre grass fire. One fire engine from Aberdeen Central was called to the blaze at grass near the former bowling alley off Balgownie Road at about 4.45pm. A hose reel jet was used to put out the flames and the crew left the scene at 5.15pm.


Hundreds affected by power cut

Hundreds of people were left without power in Orkney last night following a lengthy power cut. An SSE spokeswoman said 628 customers were “off supply” in Stromness from 6.50pm due to a transformer fault. Power was back up and running by about 10pm.
