Temperatures expected to plummet in Highlands

Temperatures are predicted to plummet tonight across the north of Scotland. The Met Office has said the Highlands could experience temperatures as low as – 12C. Elsewhere, temperatures in rural areas across the UK are predicted to drop to – 6 to -7C or lower.    


Body discovered in Bridge of Don in “unexplained circumstances”

Police are investigating after a body was found in “unexplained circumstances”¬† at an Aberdeen property earlier today. Emergency services were called to the scene in Balgownie Drive in the Bridge of Don area of the city at around 9am. Officers say the circumstances are unclear at this stage and inquiries are ongoing. Fishing boat breaks down near to Shetland

A fishing boat has run into trouble just west of Shetland. The crew of the vessel alerted Shetland Coastguard around 10.35am, after its engine failed. Coastguard teams, assisted by Aigh Lifeboat and another fishing boat, are currently towing the ship back to harbour.
