A pair of young farmers from Fraserburgh lifted the champion rosettes on their first outing to Aberdeen and Northern Mart’s annual summer show and sale of store cattle.
Brothers David and William Moir, of Home Farm, Cairness, took the top accolade with 14-month-old British Blue cross heifer named Ziggy.
This one was bred by Simon Stephen, of Meikle Geddes, Nairn, and bought by the brothers with her mother.
She sold weighing 506kg for £1,250 to James Mather, Beechbank, Kelso.
Standing reserve in the pre-sale show, which was judged by Norman Gammie of Mains of Gallery, Montrose, was a 19-month-old Limousin cross steer from James and Donald Fraser of Lethen Mains, Nairn.
Their steer, which weighed 554kg, sold for £1,280 to the judge.
The fixture was sponsored by Turriff Agri Parts.
