Make most depressing Monday of the year a bit less Blue

Post Thumbnail

Today (Monday, January 16) is Blue Monday, also known as the most depressing day of the year. So why not do something to give yourself a mood boost?

Between the weather, the post-festive period comedown or the short amount of daylight, most people are in need of a pick-me-up in January. In fact, the date of Blue Monday is pinpointed using a calculation that takes into account a number of factors including the weather, debt, the amount of time since Christmas, the amount of time since failing New Year’s Resolutions and motivation.

But it’s not all doom and gloom and there are lots of tricks to turn that frown upside down.

Here are just a few ways you can make your Blue Monday a bit brighter this year.

Feel great and look good with Mind Band Weight Loss

Part of feeling good is looking good – and Mind Band Weight Loss has two programmes to help people looking to shed some pounds.

Mindband is a hypnotic technique that business owner Terry Cromar uses. One client of Terry’s explained: “Terry has helped me become much more active and understand the importance of looking after your body reducing not just excess fat but visceral fat improving my bone mass, muscle mass and ensuring new higher hydration levels.”

The second programme is Distance Diet – a free system (the client just pays for the nutritional products they use) with mentoring through Skype. The one-on-one mentoring sessions allows for programmes to be tailored to an individual client’s needs and reduce the risk of stalling and pitfalls.

Terry said: “We give advice in small amounts so the client remembers and understands the information before moving on.

“Doing the programmes in steps – and explaining the programme as a road the client is walking along – gives the client positive thought to what they are doing and helps us explain what they are experiencing along the way.”

Clients using both programmes also receive handy diet sheets and tips, which have been collected through years of helping people lose weight.

Normal hypnosis sessions help reduce pain, but for chronic pain Mind Band Weight Loss also has a dedicated session to alleviate ongoing soreness.

Endorphins, it is said, are released in a person’s body when they exercise. And part of the effect of endorphins is a boost in mood or feeling of euphoria. That’s why joining a gym could be one of the best ways to combat Blue Monday.

Sport Aberdeen recently reopened the Jesmond Sports Centre after an extensive renovation and modernisation. It now boasts a 70-station gym (fitted with state-of-the-art resistance, cardio and functional training capacity), a dedicated immersive spin studio and the UK’s first dedicated virtual activity zone.

With a Sport Aberdeen fitness membership, members can go to any gym, swimming pool and fitness class, at any time and at any of the venues in the city, for only £25 per month.

There’s also access to personalised training plans and nutritional advice.

And if you buy now, you get the rest of January totally free!
