Fresh plans and drawings have been submitted for a long-awaited supermarket on the edge of Stonehaven.
Permission was granted for the proposals by FM Developments in June 2016 subject to planning conditions along with plans for a 50-bedroom hotel with restaurant.
Now hoping to get final approval, the plans submitted to Aberdeenshire Council give details of the design of the supermarket and phasing of the development.
Layout, car parking and transport plans have been addressed by the updated application and full details of proposed walking and cycling routes within the Ury Estate will be issued when complete.
This will include the timescale of delivery of an improved pedestrian link under the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen road adjacent to the Cowie Waters.
The FM Group is also behind the £80million boutique hotel and golf resort featuring a course designed by US golfer Jack Nicklaus.
Nearby Ury House is the proposed centre-piece resort and plans are currently also being considered for a 35-bedroom hotel built into the Estate’s Walled Garden.
The 3,750 square metre supermarket will be situated on the outskirts of Stonehaven and was one of four that had been considered at full council.
The other three applications considered were at Mill of Forest, Mains of Cowie, and a store and petrol station at New Mains of Ury.
Developer FM Group had previously been refused a planned bid to renovate the B-listed Ury House, near Stonehaven into a 35-bedroom hotel after it was deemed to be too close to the North Sea Forties underground oil pipeline.
The house currently has permission to be turned into a 5-bedroom hotel, but developers say they need more rooms to make the project economically viable.
Plans have been submitted for a 32-bedroom development of the walled garden on the estate, which falls 100m out with the pipeline’s exclusion zone.
The Health and Safety Executive previously warned the council that the 235-mile pipeline that links 85 North Sea oil and gas assets to a processing plant in Grangemouth could pose a “significant hazard” if more than 10 people stayed overnight at the hotel.
