Excitement, smiles and kilts were abundant at the biggest-ever Aberdeen Kiltwalk.

More than 2,800 participants gathered in Duthie Park all raring to go on an 18-mile or three-mile journey through the north-east countryside.

This year was the biggest ever Kiltwalk staged in Aberdeen, with 3,500 people young and old taking part in Aberdeen and Crathes.

This year’s kilt walkers raising money for more than 400 charities.

The route began at 9am in Aberdeen city centre before heading out into the countryside while bypassing the notoriously difficult Scolty Hill near Banchory.

Participants had the chance to take on The Mighty Stride at nearly 18miles or the Wee Wander at Crathes, which is more for children and families, at 3.7miles.
