Iconic spots in Moray have signed up for a new programme aimed at informing visitors about their history and on things to do nearby.

The Dallas Dhu Historic Distillery in Forres, Elgin Cathedral, Spynie Palace and Balvenie Castle in Dufftown have all signed up for VisitScotland Information Partner (VIP) initiative.

The programme, which launched in 2016, has 1,900 ambassadors and aims to harness local knowledge to allow visitors to make the most of their trip to Scotland by providing information face to face.

Moray tourism jobs bonanza revealed

Jo Robinson, regional director at VisitScotland, was delighted to welcome the four Moray attractions on board.

She said: “Historic Environment Scotland run some of the most popular attractions in the country so we are delighted to officially welcome these four important visitor attractions in Moray Speyside into our growing VIP programme.

“Their enthusiastic and friendly staff already play an important part in promoting their local area and we look forward to them continuing this as part of the iKnow community.

“There’s no doubt that the way in which visitors access information has changed dramatically over recent years.

“This new approach enhances and complements the many ways in which we provide information and ensures we are meeting the needs of our visitors.”
