Police in Inverness are appealing for information after a break-in to a car parked near Torbreck Woods in the city.
Entry was forced to the Renault Scenic by breaking a window and a number of items were stolen from within, including clothing and sporting equipment.
The theft occurred between 3.15pm and 4pm yesterday.
Inspector Mark Rasdale said: “Our inquiries are ongoing into this incident and I would ask anybody who saw anything suspicious in the area during this period on Tuesday afternoon to let us know.
“Many crimes of this nature are opportunistic and I would urge people to take steps to make sure they are protected.
“Simple acts such as double checking your car is locked and not storing valuable looking items in view from outside the vehicle can help deter thieves.
“Nothing is fool proof but many thieves are simply looking for an easy opportunity so it is best not to give them one.”
Anyone with information can contact police in Inverness on 101, using reference NN3192/18, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
