Police are appealing for information after a number of care homes in Inverness were targeted by thieves.
In total three incidents have been reported at care homes on Culduthel Road, Kinmylies Way and Scorguie Avenue.
The break-ins happened overnight between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
Police are particularly interested in tracing a grey Audi S5 which was reported in all three areas at the time the break-ins occurred.
Around £700 in cash was stolen from the care facilities on Culduthel Road and Kinmylies Way.
No items were taken from the Scorguie Avenue home.
Detective Sergeant Graeme Johnstone of Inverness CID said: “Targeting care homes in this way is a particularly cruel act and extensive inquiries are ongoing to identify whoever is responsible.
“We believe all three incidents are linked and inquiries have established that a grey Audi S5 car was seen in each area overnight.
“We would urge anyone who may have seen this vehicle, who has dashcam footage or any other information which may help enquiries, to come forward as soon as possible.”
Anybody with any information is urged to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
