Pittodrie plays host to this weekend’s SPFL curtain raiser as Aberdeen host Dundee.

Victory for the Dons would close the gap on league leaders Celtic to just three points, while a Dundee win would consolidate their place in the top six.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm and our live match blog will keep you posted as the action unfolds.

“If we win the next two games it wouldbe great but we have to focus on the first one. That’s the way we work here and it’s all about this three points first.

“There are a lot of people looking at the Celtic game but it hasn’t been mentioned in the dressing room. No one has spoken about it because the Dundee one is more important right now.

“What we want to do is get the three points there and move on.”

Dundee defender Paul McGinn says

“I think we are due one against them (Aberdeen).

“Last season we gave them a lot of good games, whereas this year we maybe haven’t been so strong against them.

“In the first match at Pittodrie, in the second half we looked like we were going to go on to take the game but they scored.

“They were excellent here the last time. We were well off the boil but they played well.

“This is a chance for us to prove a point and show what we can do against Aberdeen when we play well.

“We have made it too easy for them in the other games. We are confident after those two wins on the bounce.”
