Methlick rider Mandy Sall and Dominio recently travelled to Bury Farm Equestrian Village, Buckinghamshire, to take part in the British Riding Club Dressage to Music Championships.
The partnership competed in the 21-strong Elementary section and led from the start with a score of 72.4%, finally winning the class on this impressive percentage.
Mandy, 68, said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have won – Dominio didn’t put a foot wrong in his whole test and I thoroughly enjoyed the championship atmosphere. It’s a long journey for us, especially at my age, but my dressage to music is my passion and I am just thrilled to have done so well.”
She is a member of Ladyleys Riding Club in Oldmeldrum, and her and 14-year old Dominio compete in elementary and medium dressage locally and made the long trip south following their qualification earlier this year. Their winning music plan included music from The Entertainer, Solace and Easy Winners.
The pair now aim to compete in medium dressage to music and will produce a new floor plan for this class.
