The managing director of a public relations firm has been named as the new chairwoman of the SCDI’s Highlands and Islands committee
Jane Cumming, a founder of Beauly-based Platform PR, takes over from Michael Urquhart who held the position for six years.
She said: “It is a real honour to take on this role, following in the footsteps of Michael who has provided such strong leadership for SCDI in the Highlands and Islands over the past six years.
“Bringing together representatives from across the diverse economy of the region we look to consider the challenges and opportunities faced by those living and working here and I look forward to leading that work over the coming years.”
Mr Urquhart added: “It has been a great privilege to play my part in helping to champion all that we have to offer here in the north over these past years and I know that Jane will be an outstanding chair of SCDI’s committee as it continues to grow its influence and reach.”
