A new music festival is to be held at a castle estate in the Royal Deeside.

The Magic Wheel festival will take place in the woodlands surrounding Kincardine Castle in Aberdeenshire on Saturday, May 20.

Hosted by events organiser, Minival, who are renowned for their successful theme park parties, beach raves and club nights in the north east, the festival will include a host of bands and DJ’s including Move D, Crazy P Soundsystem and Horse Meat Disco.

Along with several music arenas there will be a street food market supplied by local vendors, bars, and professionally set up sound systems.

Organisers are expecting 1500 to 2000 people to attend, and if the event is successful they hope to establish it as an annual festival.

Ravi Karia, director of Minival, said: “Aberdeen has been missing out on something like this for a long time – even on the smaller end of the scale.

“If it’s successful we would like to make this an annual event, with a greater variety of acts, bigger names, and eventually turning it into a two day camping experience.”

For the inaugural Magic Wheel, buses will be shuttling from Aberdeen city centre to the festival site between 11am to 2pm, and then back again at 11pm after the end of the last set.
