Pet Portraits: Inverness pup this week’s top dog despite cold weather

In winter, it can be hard to drag ourselves out. But one look at the joy in Henry’s sparkling eyes, and we suspect every second is worth it for Rachel Morrison in Inverness.

It has hit that point of the year when the weather starts to turn cold and leaving the warm indoors becomes a challenge.

But pet owners, such as Rachel Morrison in Inverness, understand that no matter the weather our four-legged friends need a little adventure.

And from the excitement in Pet Portrait winner Henry’s sparkling eyes, we can see that Rachel and her beloved companion enjoy their walks together even through the winter.

Not to worry though, there are plenty of other adorable pets worthy of attention in our weekly gallery – including Zip the farm dog and a sleepy Gizmo, who seems quite content to sleep through the season.

Pet Portraits of the week

Well, now we’re going to have to rewrite the song. It should clearly be The Poppy and the Ivy! The nine-year-old cockapoo gets back to nature in Blackburn with Gillian Burnett.
It’s cold out, so be more Bella and rock a winter coat! The fab fashionista lives in Anstruther with Joan Palombo.
Charlie, if you were going for ideal noble companion, you nailed it! Adelle Buchan’s prize pooch poses at Pitfour Lake, Mintlaw.
It might not be raining cats and dogs, but it seems to be sprouting them in Keith! Onyx the dog and Nachos the cat enjoy a walk with Ashleigh and Gary Innes in Grange.
Zip certainly looks like he has this farm dog thing all fastened up in Auchenblae! John Aitken’s wee helper is ready for sheep action near Laurencekirk.
Erm… Eyes… Shiny… Precious paws… Nope, Ash is so cute, she has rendered us incapable of forming sentences! The 12-week-old beauty lives in Hatton with lucky Don Will.
Gorgeous Gus burnishes his good boy credentials while out and about in Stonehaven with Fiona Stewart.
Eileen Barnett has a real pet stag sleeping on her sofa! OK, so maybe it’s actually Gizmo taking a nap in Montrose. But we bet he’s still her little deer…
Look up ‘focus’ in your dictionary, and you should find a picture of Mia and Marley waiting for their bones! The attentive animals have Lindsay Cameron in their sights in Hatton.
Well, we can see how Hannah Ritchie thought of a name for her dog… Noodles is delicious! The champ lives in Gourdon.

If you would like to see your pet in the Your Life supplement, please send your high-resolution (good-quality) photographs to pets@dctmedia.co.uk

Please ensure you tell us your pet’s name, your own name and address, and where the picture was taken. There may be a short delay before it appears. Photos must be hi-res to print.

Each week, we will select a winning photograph and the lucky owner will receive a £50 Pets At Home gift card. At a time where costs are increasing, we’d like to make life a little easier for our readers. You can spend the voucher on essentials such as food and bedding, or just spoil your furry friend with a new toy or some tasty treats.
