This home is a great first-time buyer opportunity and could be yours for offers over £165,000

Victoria and Stuart Chalmers bought 28 Goodhope Park in Aberdeen just a month before they got married in 2014.

Two years later Victoria is ready for a house with its own garden and the next step up the housing ladder.

The two-bedroom ground floor apartment was built by Stewart Milne homes in 2012, as part of the Vision development within the Riverside Quarter. It was a blank canvas for the couple, who have now been together for 10 years, to work on. Now they are selling for prices over £165,000.

Victoria, 28, and Stuart, 29, lived in a rented property in Aberdeen for six months when they first moved here from Gourock, 40 minutes from Glasgow. They moved to Aberdeen when Victoria was offered a permanent job position.

Victoria, who is a primary school teacher, said: “When we went to view the apartment, it was only two years old.

“The bedrooms were a good size with fitted wardrobes which really appealed to me – I love my clothes and shoes.

“The large living room windows sold the apartment to me as they allow so much light in to the property and I love a bright home.”

At the entrance there is a long hall way with two large cupboards. The living room in the modern apartment has triple formation picture windows to the front and the side of the room. There is also space for a dining table as well in this light room.

“My favourite room is our living room,” said Victoria.

“The windows allow in so much light and it’s such a bright room. We have built many happy memories here with our friends and families and I hope the new buyer can begin their memories here.”

The kitchen is fitted with cream gloss base and wall mounted units and is decorated in neutral creams and browns. The bathroom is also neutral as it has a white suite with a shower over the bath and black and pale grey tiles.

The spare double bedroom has double fitted mirrored wardrobes, making the room even brighter when the light reflects through the window. The main bedroom is spacious enough to fit a king size bed easily. There are fitted double mirrored wardrobes here as well.

“Our gas and electricity is so reasonable compared to previous homes, said Victoria.

“As it’s a new build, the apartment is well insulated and always cosy. I find Aberdeen to be very cold so coming back to our cosy home is always something I look forward to.”

Outside there is a well maintained communal garden, parking for each home and a children’s park. The area is quiet and central and the couple have enjoyed getting to know their neighbours.

Victoria said: “If I could buy our next home somewhere quiet with wonderful neighbours like we have just now then I’d be sold straight away.”

A handy convenience store has just opened across the road, and the commute to work is easy from the location near the River Don. A cinema date night in Union Square is just a 15 minute drive away.

Stuart, a northern area sales manager, said: “It was a new, modern development which came up at the right time for us. Also the convenience for commuting to work made things easier too.

“We are wanting a larger home now and feel it is time to move on, although we will miss this property as it’s been our first marital home.”
