Water chiefs want to hear islanders views about their supply

Islanders will be able to have their say about their water supply at an open event this month.

Scottish Water chiefs want to know what their customers on Skye really think about the utility firm’s service on the island.

Chief operating officer, Peter Farrer, and director of capital investment, Mark Dickson, will be at the Aros Centre in Portree, to hear local residents’ views.

And they will also reveal their plans for the future.

Mr Farrer said: “In building value and trust in the essential services we provide, it’s vital that we give communities the chance to tell us what matters most to them. We aim to do that on a regular basis across the length and breadth of Scotland.

“I would encourage anyone in the area to attend our event in Portree, where they will be given a very warm welcome.

“The main part of the event will be an open and informal discussion, where we want to listen to our customers’ views on Scottish Water and the service we provide locally.”

Mr Dickson added: “We’re looking to the future and putting plans in place to ensure we continue providing supplies of high quality water to all our customers, while protecting the environment. This is an excellent opportunity for customers in Skye to meet with us and help shape the direction of their services in the future.”

The event will be held on Wednesday, June 14, at 5.45pm for a 6pm start. Refreshments will be available on arrival.
