Thousands of readers have made their voice known – and the YL Face of Country Ways has been chosen.
Lauren Babcock and Finlay D’Arcy Girdwood are the recipients of the coveted prizes – a photoshoot and feature in the fashion pages of our YL magazine, as well as a fabulous pair of Dubarry country boots, a clay pigeon shooting lesson at Lochter Activity Centre and a voucher to spend in Country Ways.
The country and equestrian clothing store in Aberdeen teamed up with the P&J’s Saturday magazine and launched a search to find one male and one female who would take up the role of brand ambassador.
Entrants were asked to send a photograph of themselves plus a short essay on why they should win the coveted prize.
The judges – Cheryl Livingstone from the P&J, Rosemary Michie from Country Ways and Graeme Duncan from Dubarry – then whittled the entries down to six finalists before the public were asked to vote for their favourite.
Winning for the girls, Lauren received 1,400 votes while Finlay attracted 417.
Rosemary said: “The votes are in and the competition is now closed, and it’s congratulations to Lauren and Finlay for winning the YL Magazine ‘Face of Country Ways’. A huge thank you to everyone who entered, the finalists and to everyone who voted! Well done again to our winners!”
Don’t miss YL on Saturday for a full interview with both winners.
