The woman who was undergoing testsĀ for Ebola at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) has tested negative, it has emerged.
NHS Grampian announced the results of the tests earlier tonight after the patient was admitted to the ARI.
Earlier today, a convoy had taken the woman from a hostel in Torridon in the Highlands, where she had fallen ill.
Health officials say that as the woman was a health care worker, who had returned from west Africa, the tests were a necessary precaution.
A blood sample was taken to the testing facility in Edinburgh and has been confirmed as negative for Ebola.
