Sweden’s Mans Zelmerlow has won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song ‘Heroes’.
The bookies’ favourite before the event, Zelmerlow’s performance pulled in an impressive 365 points.
His performance was commended for its creative staging and excellent vocals.
Russia came second with 303 points, despite leading the way for the first half of the night, and Italy finished third with 292 points.
The UK’s Electro Velvet were some distance behind the winners in 24th place, amassing only 5 points.
Speaking after he was announced as the winner, Mans Zelmerlow said: “I have so much to say right now, I’m so extremely happy.
“I want to thank all of you for voting and supporting me. I just want to say that we are all heroes, no matter who we love, what we are and what we believe in.
