A man has been charged after an alleged serious assault in a quiet Aberdeen suburb.
A 36-year-old is in custody after the incident at Johnston Gardens in the Peterculter area of the city at around 2.40am on Boxing Day.
It’s understood that a man in his 50s was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with stab injuries.
Scores of police officers were spotted at the scene.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 36-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged serious assault in the Johnston Gardens area of Peterculter in the early hours of Monday December 26, 2016.
“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in due course. “
