A north-east man has denied flashing at children at a swimming pool.
Alexander Shepherd appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court for the second time yesterday where he faced three charges of indecent exposure in front of youngsters under the age of 13.
The alleged offences all took place at the Stonehaven’s open-air swimming pool last year.
Court papers stated that, on August 6 and 17, Shepherd, of Bedford Road, Aberdeen, went to the baths and exposed himself “in a sexual manner” to young boys.
A third charge alleged he “engaged in a sexual activity” while in the presence of two boys, aged under 13, at the pool on June 26.
One of the alleged incidents was reported by a couple visiting the north-east from Tayside.
They had taken their children to Stonehaven for a day out and went to the Aberdeenshire Council-owned pool.
The husband became concerned by the behaviour of a man who spent a long time in the changing room area.
The court has been unable to identify the youngsters involved in the second and third charges.
Shepherd was originally released on bail on the condition he stayed away from the pool in Stonehaven where the offences are alleged to have happened.
He will appear for a trial in Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday, February 28.
Elsewhere, a north-east man was fined £640 after he admitted to carrying out a drunken assault during a farmer’s gathering.
The court heard Callum Fotheringham, of Kirkburn in Laurencekirk, had several encounters with Kevin Zimmerman during an event at Gordon Holdings in the town on October 22 last year.
At around 1am, the following morning, Mr Zimmerman was making his way to the dance floor when he came across Fotheringham, who punched him and caused him to fall to the floor.
After knocking him down, the 24-year-old continued to punch him as he lay on the ground.
Representing Fotheringham, solicitor Shane Campbell said: “There were several encounters between the two during the event.
“They spoke to each other in the toilet and later on there was a shoulder barge.
“My client accepts his reaction was well in excess of anything that might be expected.”
